Far from every Russian company can be proud of such a long and glorious history as the JSC Polyot. The live of the whole country reflected in the company’s history: soviet years of hard working, tough period of World War II, and nervous years of “perestroika”. Even during the most complicated years Polyot accepted the challenge of time with dignity, keeping high quality standards, unique traditions and professional labor collective, which permitted to develop the company stably from year to year.

Basic history landmarks of the JSC Polyot.

1924. Ivanovo – Voznesensk unemployment committee decides to organize a sewing workshop. The workshop was replaced in a building of former printed cotton factory that belonged to a famous industrialists and patron of art Dmitry Burylin. All staff consisted only of 40 workers.

Production extended gradually and become a factory “Ivgosshwey” which manufactured working suits and civilian clothes.

1930. At "Ivgosshvey" the factory – and - works apprenticeship school was opened, on the basis of which a technical training college (now Liceum №33) was organized later. Here already some decades the future staff trains to sewing skill.

1941-1945. Since the first days of the war the enterprise began preparations for a development of new kinds of production. The factory "Ivgosshvey" has changed not only its name, becoming a sewing factory № 3 of the People’s Commissariat for light industry, but also assortment, having changed its profile to carry out the orders of the Military Department, namely, parachutes.

1944. The works is awarded for exemplary performance of the tasks of Government with an order of Labour Red Banner. The Banner of State Defense Committee is handed on an eternal storage to it which now is stored in museum of local lore of Ivanovo city. 1516 men of the workers of the enterprise are awarded with a medal "For heroic work in the Great Patriotic war 1941-1945 ".

1954. In the post - war period the enterprise’s outputs were increased constantly. Therefore a new spacious industrial room was constructed in Bagayeva Street. The increase of the industrial areas in 3 times has allowed passing to more modern technologies.

1974. The works is awarded for a high quality output of goods with the second award of the Labor Red Banner.

1978. In connection with a stable development the works needed new industrial areas. A building for metal parts production with an autonomic heat - and energy supply was constructed. Now the works became an enterprise of a complete cycle for manufacture of parachute equipment, including metal components production for the parachute equipment. Except industrial rooms a canteen and a health protection point were located in this building.

1986. A 5- storied sewing - and assembly building was put into operation.

1989. Development of non-elliptical parachute system "Тalka" was started - absolutely new but still absolutely reliable. Already in 1992 this system for the first time in Russia was set on conveyor production.

1994. The new reserve non-elliptical parachutes Reserve - 12 and Reserve - 14 were developed.

1995. Now the long-term experience and traditions are combined with the newest technologies of management of the company. The works has got a new organization - and legal form. A young administrative team has come to the JSC Polyot. The new administrative staff of the JSC Polyot is distinguished by exact statement of tasks, vision of prospects of the company development.

In the same year the system Impulse - 12 intended for canopy formation skydiving was started in manufacture.

1996. The works constructor, triple champion of the USSR, international class sports master Vladimir Maljaev has created and prepared for mass production a unique parachute system called Malva with a principally new canopy, which was designed for practically ideal accuracy jumps. Parachute experts consider Malva to be the best classical parachute system in Russia.

2001. The Joint Stock Company Polyot has become one of the best Russian companies and was awarded with the Diploma of the Laureate of All-Russia competition “The Best Russian Companies”.

2002. The Ivanovo parachute works is awarded with the Diploma of All-Russia competition “For advances on the organization of social work ".

2003. The JSC Polyot occupied the first place on growth of sales volumes in a rating of the best enterprises of the Ivanovo region.

2004. The JSC Polyot was honored with the Premium “Russian National Olympus” in the nomination “Industry. Production.”, with awarding the insignia "Honor and Valor” for an outstanding contribution to historical development of Russia.

2005. The JSC Polyot increases volumes of manufacture at expense of creation of new modern parachute systems and mastering new markets of sale. The parachute works traditionally participates successfully in All-Russian and International competitions. The experts of the company watch attentively the parachute manufacture world tendencies, react to any slightest changes of demand, therefore JSC Polyot is always ready to offer the buyers parachutes of any models and even to develop a unique parachute on customer’s parameters.

2006 up to now. JSC Polyot launches new parachute systems development. That decision was inspired by the market growth and consumer demands increase and complication. New parachute equipment is united by the POLYOT technologies brand, which represents new approach to parachute design and development (for more details see Catalog).Another new brand is Waterflight, designed for parasails series. Together with the new parachutes development JSC Polyot successfully participates in All-Russian and International exhibitions and contests. For instance, Irbis container was awarded as one of the 100 best goods of Russia in 2009.
